Air Sound Studios, Carribean

Built in the mid 1970's, AIR (Associated Independant Recording) was a sound studio which hosted bands such as the Rolling Stones, Ultravox, Paul McCartney, Rush, The Police, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Midge Ure, Supertramp, Little River Band, Duran Duran and Sheena Easton. In 1989, the devastation caused by hurricane Hugo resulted in its permanent closure. Since then it has been left to rot and decay on a tropical island hilltop, surrounded by palm trees, ferns and overgrown nature.
The once famous recording facility is hidden away on a narrow road side and includes many rooms and a large swimming pool. Wasps now inhabit the property with a number of nests dangling from ceilings, window panes and walls. Traces of its former luxury can be noted in its grand fire place and its (now dilapidated) large lounging areas. Located out the back beside the swimming pool is the famous recording studio where so many amazing tunes were created....it was kind of an amazing experience to be here.
